Labor Story

September 28, 2009 at 5:30pm Jordan and I went to the hospital to get things moving so our little guy could get here. He was almost a week over due and I was getting to a point that I couldn't be pregnant anymore. The doctor said that he could put a....something that helps thin out the cervix (I forgot what he called it). Before he put it in, he checked to see what I was dilated to. He told me that he could break my water then and sometime during the night we could have the baby. Before we could agree with him he changed his mind and didn't want to do that since I was the strep positive. So we started the antibiotic and the process of thinning out the cervix. Jordan went to Subway to get us some dinner since that could be my last meal for who knows how long. Sure enough it was!

My water broke on its own at 1:30am and contractions started right after! At 2:15 I decided that I couldn't handle the contractions and had the nurse give me stadeal to take the edge of the contractions. To help take my mind of things Jordan played Phase 10 with me since I still couldn't sleep. At 3:15 I was dilated to a 3.5 so I was able to get the epidural and that was heaven! Able to finally sleep. Dr. Johnson came and checked me before 8 and said that I should have a baby mid morning. 1:00pm came around and nothing. I stopped at a 5.5 and needed the doctor to break my water again. He came after his lunch to check how everything was going and the baby was posterior. The doctor thought that breaking my water again and now giving me the pitocin that Carson would turn on his own and in the afternoon I would be ready to deliver.

I was sleeping off and on to be well rested when it was actually time to push. 4:30 comes around and the nurse checks me and I'm at a 10! Time to push. She lets the doctor know and he said he will be there shortly after 5. She has me start to push every time I feel like I need to.

5:30 comes around and the doctor walks in to see how I'm doing. No baby. He stays in the room with me and helps me through it. I am starting to feel some contractions and able to move my legs on my own. With feeling the pressure I am hoping that Carson will come soon so I don't hurt to bad. 6:30 and there is still no baby! I'm starting to get frustrated a little because I'm pushing perfectly but I felt like it isn't doing anything. I had mirrors so I could watch everything and nothing was moving along like I thought it would. 6:45 the doctor said with a couple of good pushes that Carson will be here! In the first set of three pushes I made it through the 1st push. During the 2nd push here comes Carson shooting towards the doctor! I did a little scream and with Jordan and Cathy (my mother-in-law) we jumped. What just happened. Dr. Johnson hurried things along and instead of putting Carson on my stomach he gave him to the nurses. He wasn't breathing well. The nurse called the NICU team and they came in to see if they could get him breathing better. Nothing. While all of this was taking place, the doctor was stitching me. 2nd degree tear and deep in the muscle.

Cathy went by the team that was working on Carson while Jordan stayed with me. Tears started coming down my cheeks as they took Carson out of the room. Jordan asked if I was okay and I told him I was fine just tired. The doctor looked up and said, "No your not! You just pushed for over 2 hours! You delivered posterior and he shot out! You didn't get to see your son like you thought and they just took him down to NICU! So no your not fine!"

Man did he nail all of my feelings or what! Carson had a big bruise on his head that was there for a couple of weeks. We were discharged from the hospital the next day late evening. With everything that happened, I loved the whole thing! Carson has been a great baby and we have enjoyed him every minute!!!

35 weeks

Well, I have made it to 35 weeks and doing good. Starting to get uncomfortable at times but for the most part I can't complain too much. I'm starting to get up more during the night but luckily able to fall back to sleep. Carson hasn't kept me up at night thank goodness! I am still working until September 11th then I will be done working in a dental office.
We have done more with the baby's room. Here are some of the things we have done and more still to do. One corner done!
So people want me to put up prego pictures so the can believe me that I am. So I think this is as good as it gets. This picture was taken last weekend at a baby shower my wonderful sisters-in-law threw me. Thanks guys, I really do appreciate it!

Baby update

I'm 30 1/2 weeks along! Only 10 weeks left. Felt pretty good with this pregnancy and not too much to complain about. Well, besides Carson being in my right ribs all the time. I think I have an internal bruise there. At least I know he is doing well, right? We don't have everything yet for him but we are getting there. Here are some pictures of his nursery.

Sports theme

Half of his closet. Diaper bag all ready to go and everything pretty organized.

All of the clothes I have so far. Can't wait to dress him!

One of the girls Jordan works with made this for him.

Welcome
Home
Carson A
Lott

All his blankets

Bath time!

Pretty much that is all that we have. I can only think of 2 items that we need to get before we have Carson. A car seat and a mattress for the crib. We do have a glider that we ordered and it will be in towards the end of August. Everything is coming together quit nicely.
We are taking the baby classes and I'm learning quit a bit from it. I want this to be a really neat experience and don't want to stress over anything while in the hospital.
Now I spend my time mostly at work and until mid September (I hope) and getting things ready to bring a baby home. It has been a really neat experience for me and I love feeling him move around. I think Jordan does as well. Yes I do have nights were I am miserable but it doesn't happen too often. It is usually when I'm running around all day on my feet and I don't get a chance to rest a little bit. Rather than that I do pretty good!

One year on May 30th!

On May 30th it has been one year since we have been married. I didn't have any idea what Jordan had in mind for our anniversary and he would only give me some clues here and there. I found out as we were heading out of Twin that we were on our way to Sun Valley to The Lodge for our stay.
The back of The Lodge

The front

Driving in

What a beautiful place to stay. We got in around 7 o'clock and checked into our room then went for some dinner. We didn't do a lot that night. I updated the blog when we got back to our room and Jordan watched the Lakers game. Win Win situation! Spending quality time together but yet doing what we both love to do. Saturday morning Jordan scheduled us a massage at The Lodge and I was in heaven! What a wonderful surprise. We could have went ice skating and other fun activities but where I am pregnant didn't know if it was a good idea.
So instead we walked through the shops and of course loved all the clothes that wouldn't come close in fitting my constant changing body. Had some lunch at a sandwich shop then went driving up through mountains and then headed to Hailey and walked around the streets. I felt like a little kid again! We stopped at the Chocolate Factory and after that got ice cream! Oh I was hurting after the ice cream but so worth having all the sweets!
The last surprise was a concert. Kenny Loggins! I know, I didn't know who he was either. He sings Footloose and some other really good songs and he was amazing! Thank you Jordan for the wonderful weekend!

Hawaii

Aloha! I know I have been back for quit some time but I haven't had the time to actually get on and when I do I don't have the computer at my house to post anything. The last week of April we were able to go to Hawaii with Stan and Cathy, and Wade and Tera for a Dental convention. Well, the boys went to the meetings while the girls got to do pretty much what ever we liked!

The first two pictures are from the first day that we got there. We climbed down onto these rocks and it was an interesting climb. First of all I'm clumsy to begin with and then add being pregnant on top of that makes it a little bit more difficult. Not because I'M just pregnant but having Jordan tell me to be careful and to hold on to him so I don't fall and land on the baby made it difficult to go down. Going back up was easy!

Waikiki beach

On our way to North Shore.
It is good to be back. I had a hard time enjoying the whole vacation because I had something to really look forward to. I had appointment for the Wednesday after we got back to find out what we are having. Well, we are pleased to announce that little Carson A. Lott will be joining our family in September!!!

14 weeks and counting!

The last 3 months of been a new experience for us. Between me starting to cry for no reason, being hot then cold, and making a mad dash for the bathroom, and getting tired really fast is a lot to take in! As you can already guest, we are expecting!!! The due date is September 23rd. I am not too thrilled about having a September baby just because my birthday is the 26th of September but I am thrilled to be pregnant. It hasn't been too bad for me. I have felt for the most part normal. That is probably way I have a hard time admitting that I have a little infant growing inside me.

I'm thinking....

So I am really thinking about going private! I been wanting to do this for a very long time but never got around to it. Now I'm really bored at work during my lunch break so I decided to jump on to write down what I'm thinking.
I'll probably do this in about 2 weeks or so. So if you can email me if you want in at jordanandheather08@gmail.com that would be great.
Hope all is well!!!

Update at the Lott's house

So I never in a million years thought that a puppy could tear up the floor or the base boards in our house. I have learned that we can not leave Sophie in our laundry room alone during the day while we are gone. We started putting her in her crate and I really like that idea and don't know why we didn't start doing that a long time ago. Our house is less of a mess when we get home and I feel that she is learning to go outside to the bathroom more and more because of this!
Now the floor is not all Sophie's fault. But she did most of it. When we first moved in, a guy came out to fix our dryer and instead of fixing it he took moved things around and when he moved the dryer back the gray tube came of so that room was getting really hot and our clothes not dry. So when Jordan was at work I moved the washer to fix the dryer. Well, the washer still had water in it so when I moved it I wrecked a little piece but I was able to use super glue and you couldn't really tell. But now that we have Sophie I need to put a rug there until we buy a new floor.

Now the base board is all Sophie! She went through her bone in about 3 weeks and so we didn't have anything for her to really chew except her rope and stuffed animal. I had swimming and this is what Jordan came home to. 3 out of the 4 moldings by the doors look like this. Then that same night she chewed on 2 more when we were in the other room.
I had a break down that night thinking that we would end up giving her away and I was said cause I love this pup but our house is getting wrecked. Jordan told me that we wouldn't give her away that we just need to train her a little bit more and that she is in her puppy stage where she will chew anything!

Now, getting to the cute stuff that she does. Last night I was getting a bath ready to relax in but that changed fast when Jordan came in the bathroom to talk to me. Sophie jumped up on the edge like she always does when she thinks she gets a bath while I'm getting ready for the day. She never actually jumped in the tub so I didn't think anything about it. To our surprise Sophie tumbles in head first in my bubble bath! We turned off the water and just let her play around for a little bit.

Jordan hurried and gave her bath and then we got her out and played with her before we put her to bed. I didn't get to enjoy my bath but I sure enjoyed watching Sophie swim around in the tub!

She loves her bath time and she lets us know when she wants in and when she wants out!
